STUDIO BASICS TRAINING:

This class consists of 4 classes or sessions of approximately two hours each. In this class, you will learn the basics of video production, including shot composition and the different types of shots. You will learn how to operate the studio cameras and how to make different types of camera movements. You will also learn how to use audio equipment and set up microphones for the best sound. Training will include use of the studio’s professional audio board. It will also include the operation of the control room equipment tapes decks, video switching, and a graphics generator. This class is mandatory for all members who want to produce a program in the studio or who want to help crew a show in the studio. This training includes learning the different crew positions, including director and producer and also explains the legal ramifications of shooting your own show to broadcast on BevCam.

BASIC FIELD PRODUCTION TRAINING:

This class consists of 4 classes or sessions of approximately two hours each. In the Field Production class, you will learn the basics of how to compose camera shots, various camera movements and setting up the tripod. You will also learn how to operate Canon GL2 and Canon Optura cameras. The course also deals with field audio and field lighting. This class shows how to plan and set up an on-location shoot that will give you the best possible video and audio. This class is mandatory for all members who want to produce a program on location or who want to reserve the camera.

BASIC COMPUTER EDITING:

This class is currently taught on an as-needed, one-on-one basis. When you make a reservation to edit your material, please specify if you need help and a staff member will sit with you and show you what you need to know to accomplish your editing goals. We can show you the basics of computer editing, including importing video and audio, arranging clips on the timeline, adding transitions and very simple titles. Also learn how to export your videos back out to tape or DVD.
