On May 1, BevCam provided a studio tour to a delegation of high school level educators from Australia and Iceland. Beverly High School frequently has visiting academics tour our facility and get an update of their award-winning media education program.

Producer Sandra Lawson took her “Get Your Garden Growing” program on location. It was a visit to Brick End’s Farm in Wenham to get an education and tour of a large-scale composting operation.

BevCam was on hand at the First Baptist Church for a public workshop conducted by Beverly Main Streets to get input and ideas on the Beverly Arts District (BAD) initiative being developed for the City.

BevCam continues to support the efforts of the High School media department with classes on TV production, editing assistance and tutorials. Many students make use of our facilities during after school hours.

On May 17, BevCam was again on hand at the Coast Guard Station in Gloucester to cover the annual Safe Boating day sponsored by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary.

On May 2, BevCam once again taped the annual Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce legislative breakfast held at Misselwood on the Endicott College campus.
Mayor Mike Cahill, State Reps Jerry Parisella and Ted Speliotis, and State Senator Joan Lovely addressed the group.

BevCam frequently conducts refresher courses for our producers. We had a group from the Council on Aging come in to keep their skills sharp for the “Livin’ the Good Life” show.

Accompanied by a BevCam crew, Phil Karwowski took his “New England Lights” show to the lighthouse at Portsmouth, NH. Phil has lately been one of our busiest producers.

During May we again hosted a youth group from Lahey Health Behavioral Services. The young people were trained in TV production and taped their own scripted, acted and directed show.

BevCam taped a first-ever event at the Council on Aging. It was a “Dancing with the Beverly Stars” competition. Local “celebrities” were paired with BCOA seniors. Everyone ended up with an award.
