Rob Chapman
Executive Director
Rob spent most of his life in the green mountains of Vermont, with a three-year stint in Southern California. Working on his fourth decade in community media, Rob jumped at the opportunity to take the helm at BevCam as its new Executive Director. Committed to the idea that media can be an active endeavor instead of just passive, Rob enjoys learning about people and organizations involved in their community and exploring ways that BevCam can help strengthen community dialogue and participation.
With interest in the intersection of technology and community, Rob works to demystify the language of video production and make it seem as easy as writing. Rob graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in Theatre, starting a local theater company in Burlington, Vermont, and then moved to a live comedy variety show on the local public access station. He left his job in construction and took a job as a production technician at the station and never looked back.
Rob has had many leadership roles in the community media sector, including President of the Vermont Access Network, and he currently serves on the MassAccess board of directors and is a long-time member of the Alliance for Community Media – Northeast Region.
The proud father of two amazing young women, Rob takes tremendous pride in his ability to help them with their technology questions but admits he may never get that Tik-Tok dance right.
